Alice Yuan is an American fiction author known for blending Western settings and characters with storytelling rooted in Eastern narrative traditions and a fondness for mythology. Educated at an international school in Taiwan, she later graduated from Columbia University with an undergrad in Religion. She grew up reading classical and contemporary Chinese literature alongside Western fiction, developing an early sensitivity to the differences in storytelling across cultures that continues to influence the stories she writes today.
Her work spans a wide range of genres, featuring both novels and short stories. She published several stories in literary journals, including Lilith, C’est la Vie, and Pool Game with Christie. Happily Ever After was nominated for a Pushcart Prize.
She is the author of The Dragon Throne trilogy, The Trees of Eden, Happily Ever After, and the anticipated occult novel based on the early life of the Virgin Mary, The Temple Virgin. Her other works include The Light of Dawn, Columbia's Intuition, Dreamtime, and Townhouse. She also explores feminism and gender roles in the dystopian novel Mother of the Stars and reimagines Sherlock Holmes with an LGBTQ spin in The End of Games.
Her novels are forthcoming.
